I dont know it this is smart idea , but it will be a quite portable solution when migrating/upgrading/installing . Just pack all the preference of the user : keyboard, screen, language, openbox, gtk pcmanfm options.. most of the hidden files in /home/tux .. but also ... browser bookmarks, network.conf and wallpaper ..etc etc.. This could be wonderfull thing for those who usually use Slitaz on Live.
And when installed , that generated package will deploy only the files related to the apps installed on the current system. (for exemple i generate the user_pref.tazpkg on computer which has pcmanfm , then i install that user_pref.tazpkg on a computer which has no pcmanfm .. the config files in the tazpkg related to pcmanfm will not be copied to the system)
Hi moulefrite,
[c]tazpkg repack-config[/c] should do a part of the job.
It creates a package with all the system configuration files.
Honestly, I never used it; not really more details in the TazPkg manual.

hey,
once again wonderfull finding
Its a good start. Maybe it should be extended to lxpanel and gtk and openbox themes and a wallpaper.
