first impression

Marvelous update from version 2 which i had kicked the tires before...  very well done ...

   went through enough trials of kernel freeze?  keyboard flashing .. hard reset ...

dvd cooking iso downloaded and burned flawlessly within rc4.3  wow.. very well done ..

i have had enough headaches with burning in the past within linux .. lots of distros

but recently this year while testing mint and others .. burning is getting much better...

really liked the selection of applications installed ... really glad firefox is NOT the main browser!

  booted this time with console .. typing lang=en  keyboard=us ..

  after burning dvd cooking iso file .. keyboard freeze again ..

  really interested in checking out the local server .. great idea !

    also really like the slitaz tazweb .. and wikipedia

grub boot loader did not recognize my comice 4 linux installation ..  (not complaining just commenting )

    so i am curious how to include it later... 

picked up WinXP and dual boots fine ..

   i am curious how to install packages from the dvd iso file.. or the dvd i created with it ...

                    ****  found that tazpkg has included the dvd iso --  ***

   after several frustrations attempts ..  well done for a linux distro ...

    i will continue to kick the tires and tinker around ...

next .. how to install chinese IME?    or how to install chinese fonts as well

   so that i can view chinese within browser or type chinese

             ****  found tazpkg has Executing get-install for:fcitx fcitx-configtool locale-zh_CN opencc scim-pinyin scim-tables-zh wqy-bitmapfont  ****   re-booting to find out if it works... ; )

as for my username .. hothorse means ... artist with a hot passion for living ...

     horse is derived from the Chinese year of the horse...   gz should be easy ..  ; )

   thanks for yet another interesting experience ...

     DSL and Slax are small .. but    Puppy linux growing bigger all the time ..

now finally noticed .. this topic is not a support question ...

   so it is a curious first impression ...

second impression ...   chinese IME and one Chinese font installed .. now wish to add more that i have .. so need to tinker and find out how to add them ..  i enjoy having the DVD iso cooking .. making installation of other packages much more quickly ..  especially with the dependencies..  ; )

     fast loading .. quick response ..  Linux Chrome and Opera browser do not show up in Internet category... ??

   this also happened in Comice 4 Linux too..   hmmmmmm

    really happy with tazweb... great idea !  being able to directly connect and surf to this forum and other information provided at Slitaz ..   

      much more tinkering today .. 

          many thanks for creating this Distro !  ; )

    now using xterm  and really like the color and sharp clear fonts..   ; )

           "everything is ok"   made me chuckle..  also nice touch after the operation finished ..  ; )

   what makes various Distros for me interesting and satisfying is how the Distro creates

     my personal user experience ..   Comice 4 has its launchpad and makes the user experience

akin to my Lenovo K1 pad (similar to Ipad, Xoom, Acer and so on ..  ) but the intensive graphic

  design especially while using Firefox really slows things down ..

          so kudos to the developers for making this Distro snappy n enjoyable thus far...

I gave up on sqlite3 and wordpress ..  i searched around for a tutorial on how to setup sqlite3 and wordpress and could not find enough information to create a database using sqlite3 to use with wordpress...

  besides from reading it seems that the pdo plugin for wordpress might be buggy too...

         frustration ...

tks for the quick reply ...  ; )    however ...  it is one of those .. omg .. moments..

    i did not at that time .. think ... gee use the package manager..  because i had done this

  with Mint.. Comice.. Ubuntu and so on ..

   so...  after making a nice mess ..  i re-installed Slitaz ..

    #1 Wordpress was really mucked up .. due to reading different posts .. online ..

    #2  somehow .. i installed different wallpaper .. and the bottom where the applications and other menu bar is ..

  disappeared too...   

      now i have installed Wordpress via the package manager .. and will find out soon ... 

     snappy, light, breezy  and quick .. are some of the keywords that readily come to mind to describe

             Slitaz ..    i did not wish to try Slitaz 3 .. since Slitaz 4 connected me to the Net ..

        it still freezes on me..   when i boot ..   keyboard blinking madly ...

    installation on Hard disk is a breeze too..   compared to typical Mint or Ubuntu installation

       now i will try to find out how to add more Chinese fonts that i have ..   

            iron web browser is cool to use too instead of Google's Chrome...

      Midori was a good choice for the main browser too ...  and Slitaz browser is really convenient ..

           Watson .. the Case is Afoot!
