No sound in Firefox-official

Firefox-official starts OK and no problems browsing - however, no sound when playing audio clips.

I get following error when firefox is run in a terminal

[Child 6779, MediaPlayback #3] WARNING: a07ba4c0 OpenCubeb() failed to init cubeb: file /builds/worker/workspace/build/src/dom/media/AudioStream.cpp, line 382

[Child 6779, MediaPlayback #3] WARNING: Decoder=a6cf8680 [OnMediaSinkAudioError]: file /builds/worker/workspace/build/src/dom/media/MediaDecoderStateMachine.cpp, line 3639

Midori, Palemoon and Ekiga have no problems whatsoever playing audio.

Currently running 3.16.55-slitaz

@gdesilva

I have the same problem.

I'm sure someone has some ideas on how to fix this ...

Re: No sound in Firefox-official

Hi there,

To get sound from the Firefox you need to correctly worked PulseAudio since 52.0 (read me).

Pulseaudio package exists in SliTaz, but most likely it not works as expected.

I used to manage to cope with it, but for a long time I have not had a sound like yours ☺

Re: No sound in Firefox-official

Sound in Firefox is now working !

All I had to do was install the package named "pulseaudio" from Packages ..!

Another great job done - thanks Aleksej !

@gdesilva

Try this, and if it works you can click on the green "solved" button :-)
