Tutorial: How to install LibreOffice
The following install was carried out successfully with LibreOffice 5.4.0 on the most recent version of SliTaz5 rolling core (22.9.2019). Prior to this, attempts to install more recent versions were made but failed (i.e. for LibreOffice 6.3.1 & 6.0.5) – this is the reason I went on to use 5.4.0, which proved to be trouble-free. This failure seems due to a dependency on avahi, which is currently not available on SliTaz: https://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/msg53814.html
There is more than one way of installing LibreOffice – the following is merely an account (in six steps) of what worked well for me: no woks, cookbooks or burnt food! It’s written very simply, as it’s aimed at those who feel like a complete newbie to Linux and struggle with command-line.
METHOD
Step 1. First you need to be logged in as root user. In the sakura terminal
type su, then enter password (root is the default password):
‘tux@slitaz:~$ su
Password:
root@slitaz:/home/tux#’
The ‘#’ prompt means you’re logged in as root-user (also known as 'superuser' or 'administrator')
Step 2. Remove any previously installed version of LibreOffice which is not working - this will also remove it from the Menu (Applications) gui:
‘# tazpkg remove LibreOffice’
If you don’t have any previously installed versions, then ignore Step 2
Step 3. Download LibreOffice-5.4.0.tazpkg from
http://slitaz.free.fr/public/LibreOffice-5.4.0.tazpkg
By default it will download to home/tux/Downloads (tux=default name, or use your username here)
Step 4. Now change the directory, using the ‘cd’ command, to the Downloads folder:
‘# cd /home/tux/Downloads’
Step 5. Then after the root prompt, type the following to install LibreOffice
‘# tazpkg install LibreOffice-5.4.0.tazpkg’
Using the GUI, the full LibreOffice suite of applications will now appear listed across Applications/Education, Applications/Office and Applications/Science. You will also now see it listed under My Packages in the SliTaz Panel. However, you wont yet be able to launch them from the Menu – this is the next step.
Step 6. Finally, to launch the LibreOffice applications from the Menu, type the following on separate lines, hitting the return key after each line:
# rm -f /usr/bin/soffice /usr/bin/libreoffice5.4.0
# ln -sf /usr/lib/libreoffice5.4.0/program/soffice /usr/bin/libreoffice5.4.0
You should be able to open the LibreOffice applications now, following a shutdown & reboot.

Yes, initially I tried '#tazpkg -gi get-LibreOffice'. It defaulted to the most recent version (6.3.1), didn't work, exiting with an Http error. Terrybull had a similar experience when he used this code for getting version 6.0.5. This is why I present a different way of doing this in the tutorial.

Thanks Terry - well, if it hadn't been for your initial help, I think I would have completely given up !
I have to say there are some really good features with Slitaz & it has a lot of potential. Also, the most recent Slitaz rolling release looks much more polished.
Unfortunately Slitaz seems pretty buggy, to say the least, which is off-putting for anyone trying it. For example, I installed Htop (working well), and then went on to install the browsers Iron-Linux & Firefox, which launch in Slitaz4, but not in Slitaz5 ! I haven't had any luck either in getting the wifi to work. When I tried to set up the wifi, the ethernet stopped working - the only way I could find to get the ethernet back was to reinstall Slitaz !
Sadly, I feel on the backfoot with this distro as I'm not well-skilled in the command-line department - it's not a distro for beginners or the faint-hearted. It's a shame there isn't a Tutorial section to get newbies off to a flying start. However, I'll persevere for as long as time allows ...

Eu ainda não consegui verificar se o arquivo get-LibreOffice.tazpkg atual, após a atualização do dia 18-07-2020 já foi corrigido ou não, pois com ele eu não consegui fazer a instalação online.

It is with much regret that I had to stop using Slitaz, as there were too many seemingly unresolvable problems with it and not enough people available to help with basic questions. I finally left Slitaz and am now with antiX: it's the only useable distro that will work well on a single-core CPU (1.66GHz) Samsung netbook, like Slitaz used to be.
I really wish I could help the Slitaz community to resurrect the distro, but unfortunately I don't have the advanced coding skills required.

Quem mais perde com isso é a própria distribuição SliTaz e a comunidade GNU/Linux.
