Getting WiFi working - au secours !

Does anyone have a guide on how to get WiFi up & running. I tried, using the GUI, but it didn't seem to work. My skills in this direction are pretty basic so any help is much appreciated.

Merci d'avance - ton aide est bien appréciée!

Re: Getting WiFi working - au secours !

Hi mikey777,

Did you try this tuto: http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:wifi-easy

if you are using Rolling:

[*]don't try the wifibox command;

[*]install pciutils

[c]# tazpkg get-install pciutils[/c]

before to run

[c]$ lspci | grep -i network[/c]

You can also read http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:wifi-hard

What steps did you follow exactly to try to have Wi-Fi working? and what went wrong?

Can you give information about your Wi-Fi card?

@Ceel

Many thanks for your reply.

I installed 'pciutils', as you suggested, but the second line 'lspci | grep ...' didn't work.  As I had Slitaz dual-booted with another distro (which was already configured for WiFi), I went to check the firmware installed for that distro - it was 'iwlwifi3945' - I found this firmware in 'extra' category of Packages in the SlizTaz Panel.  The rest was very easy: I just used the GUI to connect to the router using WiFi.

Many thanks again for your feedback - another one solved :-)
