Using '/etc/hosts' to block URLs: are both 0.0.0.0 and 127.0.0.1 recognized with Slitaz5?

I'm using the file /etc/hosts to stop my Intel Atom notebook from connecting to selected internet hosts.

I'm doing this to help block spyware, pop-up traps, etc. For more details and a comprehensive list of domains that are blocked see the following link:

http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/zero/

Can someone tell me if domain names pre-fixed with either 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1 are blocked equally effectively with Slitaz5 ?  The aforementioned link states that some systems wont recognize 0.0.0.0

Is this the case for Slitaz5 ?

Run Application->tazpanel, set user root, go to menu network->summary and set ad blocker in hosts frame.

Then look at your /etc/hosts.

Your advice on how to set the adblocker in the hosts frame was much more efficent than what I had done. I had actually copied and pasted the domains manually from someonewhocares.org directly into the /etc/hosts file.

What you suggested is much better as this is done automatically at the push of a button, and the domain lists are updated automatically on a regular basis.
