How does one build a package from v3 on v4 and where does one find v3 packages...repo?

Folks I am on old hardware that fits the description of what Slitaz can boot on. Sadly your team upped to syslinux-4.x sometime ago and that move left my hardware in the dest for support. Having paramount problems using tazlito on v3 as one out of 20 iso’s I make has what I told tazlito to put inside. Most fail on sound modules. Almost like depmod has issues near the end of the make tazpkg script. Or the script that compresses them gets cut short.

Well its been a week and no body here is answering my questions. Do I need to reply with more details? Please indicate which you are interested in.

I would be wiling to try to build syslinux-3.82 on Slitaz v4 but I cant find the packages repo and its not as easy at aiming towards it as I can see. Can someone please offer a tip?

Hit a wall again. I downloaded tazpkg’s for syslinux-3.82 from slitaz package search. I put them at first in wok-stable but later realized I need to put them in wok.

Again, I cant use v4 or v5 due to the too recent version of syslinux and no one here is helping so I try to make it work myself. Only eaach step I take I question the tools I am using. 

So in wok I extracted both syslinux packages to folders and took the receipt files and gave a once over. Told cook to cook syslinux-3.82 but had to eventually say just cook syslinux by folder renaming. I got two steps in and saw the first error was that wget failed. I chopped the url and tested it.

Oh thats right. Slitaz does not ship with https enabled and I look for package cacerts or ca-cert or ca-certificates or cert

All of these searches come up not found. How does https enable in slitaz and why does it not ship with https enabled? I did download v4-cooking. Cant cook without https......

To change the mirror in SliTaz type

[c]tazpkg setup-mirror[/c] and enter the url.

Concerning https, I meat the same trouble this week in Next64.

[c]tazpkg get-install wget[/c]

solved my problem. Hope it helps.
