How do you upgrade an installation?

I'm confused about upgrading a SliTaz installation. Here are the results from uname -a :

Linux slitaz 3.16.55-slitaz64 #2 SMP Tue Aug 18 17:28:02 Europe 2020 x86_64 GNU/Linux

When I attempt to update I get this:

1% Upgrading SliTaz on: /dev/sda6

5% Checking settings...

10% Preparing source media...

20% Preparing target disk...

Errors encountered.

Error: /dev/sda6: Partition is already in use. Process not completed

But the installation I want to upgrade is ON /dev/sda6. What am I missing here?

Do not use Slitaz installer for updating packages.

Slitaz installer can do a new installation of Slitaz, preserving user data (/home) in a partition that is not in use, for example when booted from optical or USB media, Slitaz in a partition on disk can be "updated".

Packages can be updated with GUI tazpanel or with command

# tazpkg update [--check]
