Wifi Adapter not picked up

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble with a wireless usb dongle, perhaps you can address me in the right direction.

Via lsusb I see the device in question is marked as 0bda:a811, its name is "802.11ac WLAN Adapter", and kernel in use says "none".

A quick search says that this is using a Realtek chipset, model rtl8812au.

Does anybody know how I can get this, providing I may be unable to connect the device directly to LAN?

if you click on the network icon at the right of the top bar menu - does it appear there?
