iso already mounted error.

Hi,

I'm having strange problems installing Slitaz to HD.

On the Live CD, I copy a just-downloaded iso to /home/tux (I have tried with rolling and rolling-core with the same result).

Then, I launch the installer and select iso, and it shows the correct path.

However, the install is aborted, and the log shows the following error:

10 Preparing source media...

Creating mount point: /media/source...

/home/tux/slitaz-rolling.iso: md5 file not found, cannot check integrity.

mount: /media/source: /home/tux/slitaz-rolling.iso is already mounted.

-x-x-

Error: /home/tux/slitaz-rolling.iso: Failed to mount ISO.

Process not completed

=== Tazinst error on 01/11/2021 06:57:55 PM ===

I used the same method countless times before (since at times Slitaz has problems finding the correct USB) and I have never had any troubles.

I have tried several times, changing iso and burning the iso to the USB again, always with the same result.

The message says the iso is already mounted, but I did not mount it at all, just copied it to the /home/tux folder from the HD.

Also, I never needed to place the md5 file with the iso before.

By the way, how come the installer does not offer an option to install from the live system itself as a source?

Wouldn't that be a good option?

Thanks.

Re: iso already mounted error.

I posted this on another thread already:

Try this older ISO I had lying around:

You might be able to update SliTaz after installing it to your hard drive. I updated my installation of SliTaz once after reinstalling SliTaz, when my installation medium wasn't up to date anymore. It took a while, but it was good I think.

It brought me an error when I put the ISO onto an USB stick to test it, but when I pressed enter, it brought me to a second menu, and it booted when I chose "SliTaz core" there so you might be able to install it from there. Your ISO seems to have an installer with a bug that makes it repeat it mounting and other things.

Re: iso already mounted error.

I tried an older Slitaz remaster I had lying around, and was able to install it on the HD. However, when I upgraded it, the system crashed, I think complaining about glib.

I'll try your ISo and see what happens. I hope the maintainers can fix the bug though cause Slitaz is so unique.

Re: iso already mounted error.

The bug is in the tazinst script, line 1904. It should be "/usr/bin/install ...".

Once this is updated, the installer works.

Execute the following line in a terminal, then try again:

sudo sed -i '/^\s*install -/s/^\s*/&command /' /usr/sbin/tazinst

Re: iso already mounted error.

Hi Bellard, thanks for pushing the fix.

BusyBox is in [c]/usr/bin/[/c] not [c]/usr/sbin/[/c].

(Installer works but says an error occurred. The keymap, locale, time zone & wifi configs are not copied).

Re: iso already mounted error.

He's right. I tried it and was asked again for the keymap and locale at the first boot. The time was fine though.
