AVG free quarantining iso sites/downloads

Trying to download current iso files.  AVG free antivirus keeps flagging and quarantining and blocking the downloads  Tried the US ibiblio(?) site, same thing when I tried to download any of the ISOs.  Please see screen shots.

Are these files really infected, or is AVG mishandling them?  Thanks.

Re: AVG free quarantining iso sites/downloads

Hi RichE,

I download slitaz-rolling.iso from ibiblio.org mirror, scan with Kaspersky cloud 21.2.16, no virus find, same for slitaz-cooking.iso.

I check-in for mirror.slitaz.org for slitaz-4.0.iso, slitaz-rolling-core-5in1.iso and slitaz-rolling.iso seem good also.

Maybe false positive about plop.exe, memtest.exe, ipxe.exe, linld.com present in rolling iso.

Best regards

Hmmmm, interesting.  According to Virustotal.com, several engines flag this, but most do not.

I'll ask AVG about it.

Details from virustotal.com here if interested.

Re: AVG free quarantining iso sites/downloads

RichE, there's something else ...

When you are preparing the bootable USB stick with SliTaz ISO, disable AVG, otherwise it will damage the pendrive preparation process and will not start SliTaz.

It is not only with SliTaz that AVG identifies suspicious files, in other Linux distributions the same is true.

Shann, thanks for checking the ISOs and for scanning with another antivirus. I scanned with Symantec and does not detect suspicious files or viruses in the ISOs: slitaz-rolling.iso (http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/rolling/slitaz-rolling.iso) and slitaz-rolling-core64.iso (http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/rolling/slitaz-rolling-core64.iso) downloaded on 02-23-2021.
