rdesktop 1.9.0 has an issue when providing the password (-p switch) on the command line:
- rdesktop freeze the desktop when a certificate question is issued
- rdesktop crashes if we "echo 'yes' | rdesktop ... -p passwd HOST" (Core(error): Failed to read response from stdin)
rdesktop 1.7.0 server login window is shown again after logging off the user
=> would it be possible to generate a rdesktop 1.8.6 tazpkg?
freerdp does not show in full screen (/f switch), it work in a quite full screen window. I also find it slow to start (around 15 seconds before login in, even with the remote session already opened.
=> need a fullscreen capable build

First of all, thanks for the quick reply, it is really appreciated.
From my point of view, the issue has disappeared because this version does not show the certificate warning (so it does not cause the problems). I do not know if this version breaks anything for some users? I just saw that some distributions stayed with 1.8.6.
I was not expecting xrdp packages, so thanks also for them if it is useful for anybody else.
I would say to not close the case until there are some freerdp packages, I should receive a notification so I can test it on my side too if it can help.

I have found a mouse cursor issue with 1.8.6 version.
I tried to see if I could cook a 1.9.0 version but it is out of my knownledge.
Would it be possible to have a private build of latest rdesktop version, with all commit/changes that could be found and I will make some new tests. Do not push it on cooking folder, I do not want to break anyone's installation.
If I launch "/etc/init.d/xrdp status/start/stop/restart", I have an error message:
/etc/init.d/xrdp: .: line 31: can't open '/lib/lsb/init-functions': ...
The "..." stands for something like "no file or folder of this type" (I have the error in French).
I did not investigate at all on this problem, not really an issue for me, just reporting it for others.
There is no emergency as first problem is only a cosmetic issue.

github has no release 1.9.0 more recent than that from 2019-10-11.

I was about to ask you how you found this link because I searched for before posting, then I saw your name, I guess you are the maintainer?
So I confirm I still have the same issues with this version, even after updating SliTAZ to the latest builds.
It seems rdesktop is still not maintained since a while, I wonder if I should move to xfreerdp, but as I said, I experienced issues with it. I have just tried again with 2.0.0rc4 and I have an error message on the command line (BIO should retry returned a system error 32: Broken Pipe - and then a Protocol Security Negotiation Failure). I have not pushed further the investigations on my error, maybe some parameters to tweak.

I just created a SliTaz packge in my private wok from the latest available source from github.
When some patches are to be found somewhere, let me know it and I shall create a new private
package including these.
By the way: 8 days ago Pascal Bellard updated the official package to 1.9.0 and included a patch.
