Thx for SliTaz!

I just tried out SliTaz last weekend, and really like the simplicity and speed. I also like the development philosophy that's based on minimalism and loading everything into memory.

I've got SliTaz loaded on a Sony Vaio VGN 2200E that's rockin' a Core Duo with 2 Gigs of RAM and shelled out a whopping ten bucks for a 4 Gig upgrade that should arrive later this week.

I'm still trying to figure out wifi, but I'm sure that will be all sorted out soon. Or, relatively soon, as by background is more psychology than tech.

Thanks for all the hard work put into this distribution.

Hi, if you haven't figured yet, to setup wi-fi easily for a hdd installation:

1. In the slitaz application menu (like start button for windows), go under preferences -> wi-fi configuration -> type in root password -> select your wi-fi ssid (double click) -> enter your wifi password.

2. Once it has been set, on the taskbar, click the network icon -> click arrow next to eth0 and select wlan0. You will connect to wi-fi automatically.

You might have to repeat step no. 2 every time you boot but its like 3 clicks and takes less than 5 seconds. But in case if you are using a live CD/USB, I believe you will have to setup wi-fi every time you boot.

I recently switched from my slitaz install on virtual box to a hard disk installation myself and I find it to be pretty responsive and is working out as my daily driver.

One recommendations I have is to get Opera browser if Firefox doesn't work. Midori is fine for what it does, its significantly outdated (2012). Opera isn't as old (2017) and Firefox is great but unfortunately its crashing on me. (2nd gen i5 with 8gb ram)

Also, it can look great :3
