Hi all,
While I updated the full toolchain and Kernel (hours of compilation) I played a bit with QT and managed to pack KDE in 38Mb :-)
I know many users wher abset about KDE4 and it heavy interface and Kubuntu is no longer andorsed by canonical, so we may have new users on the KDE/QT side!
Ok packing KDE in 38Mb was a joke :-) But we seriously can provide a full QT desktop uneder 40Mb using the Razor-qt desktop environement and lightweight QT application. KDE is heavy but QT itself is not, I used KDE long time ago and with the slitaz-razorqt.iso I feel a bit like in
clean KDE3 desktop!
By the way, the ISO is built with all latest packages from Tank including new Glibc 2.14.1 and Kernel 3.2.14 for those who want to give it a try before I sync the mirror.
WARNING: This a beta ISO, not yet complet but usable.

>GNOME quick and KDE is slow
Get your hands out your a** and go to settings manager.
Gnome3 is awful and KDE4 has a bit more traditional look.
And we also have MATE and TDE.

nice
. Thank you.

Not nice is that the Xscreen does not open.
lsmod shows nouveau loaded. With tazx and then select ,,nv" I cannot get a usable configuration.
lspci shows a
00:0d.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C61 [GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a] (rev a2)
So again my favourite nVidia-game? ;-)

Nobody around to help me out? I am so damned curious on this piece of software but without an Xscreen I cannot even have a short look at it! :-(
And that means:lacking the means I cannot contribute by giving feedback.

I read a remark that in such a case it might be necessary to work with the vesa-driver.
@pankso: are you able to give a detailed advice how to change it so that this vesa-driver is established and nouveau no longer is loaded?

Build an ISO without xorg-xf86-video-nv include. We have a xorg-server-light.iso flavor with only the vesa driver: http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/4.0/flavors/slitaz-4.0-xorg-light.iso
I can build the same ISO but with Razor-qt as desktop environment if you need.

,,I can build the same ISO but with Razor-qt as desktop environment if you need."
Yes, that would be nice, indeed. Since long 4.0 works for me with nv, no problem, but not Razor-qt. This did not permit a working Xscreen on my present machine at all. I do not want to feel being exluded when exciting new things happen! ;-)

@pankso
The present razor-qt you offer at:
SliTaz Razor-qt ISO: http://is.gd/TazQT01
If you build an ISO without xorg-xf86-video-nv, like slitaz-4.0-xorg-light.iso - where would this appear? In ../flavors or whereelse?
