Installing from slitaz-4.0-lowram.iso installs cmd line only...

no windows manager gets installed? is this normal?

Im installing in a 64 ram computer, installed the normal slitaz-4.0.iso but only had 2 megs of ram left with default install, so i tried the installing the lowram iso, but did not get any gui or windows manager, only text login and not even openbox gets installed...

Re: Installing from slitaz-4.0-lowram.iso installs cmd line only...

I'm not sure if this is helpfull, but I have a 128MB ram computer, and using the normal slitaz-4.0.iso booted me also to a terminal. Using the gtkonly option booted to a limited gui, without most applications. But after installing Slitaz, I have al the system working. If you want to install from the command line use the "tazinst" command.

Re: Installing from slitaz-4.0-lowram.iso installs cmd line only...

Yes, i am installing from cmd line using tazinst. booting from a live usb via plop boot manager.

I boot slitaz-4.0.iso (from usb) and select the "slitaz base live" option and that boots me to cmd line only and i install from there with tazinst using a iso image on hardisk as source.

When i install with the slitaz-4.0.iso as source i get a full slitaz with all the apps but it consumes all the ram.

When i install with the slitaz-4.0-loram.iso as source, i get a cmd line install only. no window manager gets installed.

I'm going to try and make my live usb with the slitaz-4.0-loram.iso and boot with that and try installing from there, or with the iso as source also.
