Dear all,
first of all, wish you all a happy new year ;-)
Since my Fujitsu-Simeens P7010 Lifebook is broken down, I try to get SliTaz on my Odys WinPad V10 Convertible. But unfortunately without success.
I just can boot into the command line. When trying to get in the graphical mode, it says:

I tried Tazx and installed the intel drivers and the dependencies.
It's a Intel HD Graphics. The processor is an Intel Atom Z3735F.
Tazhw detect-pci shows:

What steps I could try, to get this awesome OS running on this machine?

Maybe the [c]Xorg.0.log[/c] file could help and also the return of [c]lspci -k[/c].

I don't know yet, how to get all of the Xorg.0.log into a file to paste it here. but I tried BionicPup and could get the screen running.

Dear Ceel,
I may not have expressed myself correctly. The SliTaz OS doesn't detect the i915 driver. This has happened with the BionicPup OS. The SliTaz OS detects only the ata_piix module, the cirrus module as well as the e1000module. Here is the lsmod:

I have absolutely no idea, what doing next :-(
I'll have a look into the guidelines in the documentation. Maybe I can find a solution. Otherwise I will return later ...

Yes, I saw that the i915 module wasn't loaded automatically.
The Intel HD Graphics is integrated in the Intel Atom Z3735F; I don't know it's why SliTaz doesn't detect it, our kernel is older than the one of BionicPup32 19.03. Maybe loading the module manually...

Here is the [c]applications.conf[/c][c] file.
After you copied it in [/c][c]/etc/slitaz[/c] check that [c]/home/tux/.config/slitaz/[/c] exists.
If not, as tux user create it and copy [c]applications.conf[/c] in it. Hope it's the only file missing.
Please how did you install SliTaz? The linux-drm package is in the ISO.

No, I did not install SliTaz yet on my Odys Winpad, as I don't really know, if I can get it running on this machine.
Till now, I just tried it in Qemu.
I tried to load the i915 module in cammand line before booting. But it's not possible. It hangs on boot failure. To force to load the drm module it is possible. If I don't put this into the command line, it will always load the cirrus module, as it was shown in the screenshots above.
Next I'll test by booting from USB stick. Just have to figure out, to set the boot options. Because without any entries, it hangs on boot in any version of the rolling SliTaz by now.

Long time I didn't use qemu and I never used it a lot, not sure I can give you a hand with it.
So, you are not trying to boot SliTaz from an image disk but from its ISO file, right?
Did you specify a system and the quantity of RAM you allow at qemu in your command line or did you use defaults?
Editing the kernel line (press the Tab key when menu displays) to add [c]module=i915[/c] should load the module during the boot.

Just to don't missunderstand your advice. Do I have to add module=i915 not modprobe=i915?
I try to boot now from USB stick. But I always end up at blank screen (while trying slitaz-core). I tried many different commands at the command line such as irqpoll noapci noapic.
But I'm still trying :-)

Now I could boot the rolling slitaz-core at my Winpad from USB just with the command nomodeset.
Then I had to set the language and the keymap. But booting only in prompt and still not in X.

Oh sorry, you're right. [c]modprobe=i915[/c] of course.

but something seems still missing

unfortunately I couldn‘t manage to save the Xorg.0.log file somewhere to paste it in the mentioned pastebin. Didn’t could mount any media to save the file or just copy into.
And unfortunately I couldn’t manage to get wlan access by usb wlan stick because of no drivers for my stick, too :-(
What I saw, that there is the iosf_mbi_pci device detected. But the module is missing.

Well, I don't understand anything anymore
The module was loaded in a previous screenshot (lspci-k2.jpg) and [c]iosf_mbi_pci[/c] is a builtin module:
[c]zcat /proc/config.gz | grep -i iosf
CONFIG_IOSF_MBI=y[/c]
I don't know any way to (re)load a builtin module.
I gave a look again at all the screenshots you posted; the kernel doesn't detect the same hardware and doesn't load the same modules from a boot to another one.

I don't think so as long as it's not clearer for me and we obtain reproductible boots. I need to think about all this.
What is the exact configuration of the computer: UEFI or Legacy BIOS, SSD disk, Windows installed?
Please can you post a screenshot of

I would like to try a frugal installation.

I'm so sorry for confusing you. And of course, I really don't want to hold you up. This wasn't my plan at all. So I really appreciate your support.
So, the first screenshots came from my first steps, trying to boot slitaz rolling at qemu. But there, I could see, the system struggled with many things. This you can see at the screenshots on top of the relevant terminals.
Afterwards I tried with creating an USB live stick and plugged it in.
Curious that the iosf_mbi_pci module is shown as detected in [c]tazhw detected-modules[/c]. But in [c]tazhw detect-pci[/c] it is shown as missing.

I propose we start again from the begining and always boot from the same "install".
But first I'd like you check the integrity of the ISO you use; if you've downloaded the [c].md5[/c] file when you downloaded the [c].iso[/c]:
[*]change in the directory where are the 2 files;
[*][c]md5sum slitaz-rolling-core.iso[/c] (you don't need to be root);
[*][c]cat slitaz-rolling-core.md5[/c];
[*]compare the 2 values
If you didn't load the [c].md5[/c], download the latest ISO and its md5 and make a new live. Or we can work from a full install on a USB stick, or a frugal install on the HD, I let you choose. But I think we should forget Qemu; I remember I struggled with it to access at the USB ports.

today, I got a bit free time. So I could spend some overtime to this project.
the check of the iso file with the checksum are equal.
I put the [c]modprobe=i915[/c] into the command line and tried to load all other modules I already knnow. But it made no difference. Still "no sreens found" and no access to the graphical mode.

Now, I think to try like K3nn3th did 4 years ago, to get slitaz-rolling running on my WinPad. First to install another linux onto a usb stick and add slitaz like he mentioned on his post.
Or do you think, this will end up at the same problem?
Maybe the linux kernel 3.16.55 is too old for this machine and I should accept to wait for a newer slitaz version?

K3nn3th did a frugal install; it's one of the ways I suggest you. You don't need to install another distro:
[*]boot your live, login as root, remove the LiveUSB;
[*]mount the hard disk: [c]mount /dev/sda1 /mnt[/c];
[*]create a directory at the root of the HD, say [c]slitaz[/c] (but you can give it the name you want) and copy in it the [c]rootfs.gz[/c] and [c]vmlinuz-3.16.55-slitaz[/c] files of the ISO;
[*]insert a formated ext3 stick USB and mount it: [c]mount /dev/sdb1 /media/flash[/c] (assuming there is nothing else that the new stick connected at USB ports);
[*]install Grub4dos on it: [c]grub-install --root-directory=/media/flash /dev/sdb[/c] (don't give any partition number);
[*]change in the stick: [c]cd /media/flash/boot/grub[/c] and create a [c]menu.lst[/c] file with a simple entry:
[c]### GRUB4DOS configuration file.

You can add the [c]modprobe[/c] option in the kernel line.
By the way, I saw in your [c]Xorg.0.log[/c] you did a syntax error:

When [c]modprobe[/c] is used several times, the kernel keeps only the last occurence ([c]r8723bs[/c] in the case above). Modules must be separated with ',' ; the right syntax is [c]modprobe=i915,xhci_pci,mei_txe,lpc_ich,r8723bs[/c].
Boot from this stick to run the frugal install.

Ooops, maybe you boot with UEFI and not BIOS 
In this case, forget Grub4dos. It'll be still easier to boot from a pendrive.

Yes it's an UEFI and i don't really understand, if it woud make any difference to boot from hd or from pendrive.
These days i could get another 2in1 convertible with similar hardware (NextBook Ares 11A). It's not the bay-trail but the cherry-trail architecture. And i tried on this machine to boot the slitaz-rolling.iso with almost the same output ... no screens found. Even if i try to load the i915 module at the command line as you mentioned. Then the Xorg.0.log file says that the intel module can't be loaded.
Maybe it's not worth to spend more time at this for the moment. But thank you very much for spending your time for trying to help me. I just still wonder how could K3nn3th run slitaz on a similar machine.
