Desktop wont start. nomodeset: no screens found

i really wanted to test slitaz. I tried to use it a few years ago on other hardware and had problems starting, today, with more modern hardware, the same problem continues.

boot starts but the desktop is never displayed.

when using nomodeset and using startx: no screens found

I searched the forum and found several people with the same problem and all of them for different reasons. there is no single solution for everyone.

I would like some help to make it work.

Could you please submit some more information about your hardware?

Especially on your video card?

Otherwise it is really hard to help you at all.

It's like telling your car mechanic, that you need help, because your car does not start....

Did you login as root and install the corresponding video driver:

[c]#tazpkg -gi xorg-xf86-video-nouveau[/c] ?
