Back in the saddle

Greetz to all currenly active SliTaz developers!

Lot of time have passed since 4.0 release, nice to see SliTaz is somehow active.

I stumbled upon a couple of articles recently, one on the hackernews and the other from the old computer challenge 2023 participant, mentioning some nice features and some problems and bugs using SliTaz as a daily driver for the week.

So I am willing to return to maintainership.

I currently have a cheap 20-thread Xeon workstation as a building machine and a couple of 10-15 year old PCs to test on. Had to rebuild the kernel to support 32 gigs of ram and all these CPU threads, stock is limited to 4GB and 8 CPUs.

Any suggestions on what to do first?

P.S. Are there any hints to speed up "cooker -a"? I can recompile slitaz-toolchain in less than 30 minutes, but "cooker -a" has been trying to compute cookorder for 24h+ and still going.

Re: Back in the saddle

Hi devl547, hope you fine.

Nice stuff, on my side i buy last year box rack with two C6100, good deal.

C6100 (4 nodes per lame, each have 2*X5660 24c, ~64Go RAM).

And also laptops for test my build (dell latitude x300, eeepc 1215n)

Concerning cooker, i think loop with cookorder, i remember see build depends loop for attr/gettext.

For slitaz-toolchain, on tank build in 27mns wink.
