recompile SliTaz with Gentoo/LFS/Slackware sources: What would happen?

Hi

I did read recently about the limitation concerning Firefox caused by the use of our (too) old C libraries.

What would happen if following really fidel the Book of building SliTaz from Scratch from Christophe (in the first SliTaz handbook), I mean the selection of stuff having maximal identic dependencies and erasing not vital stuff, as translations, man pages etc.), and following, today, the Russian dolls strategy to build SliTaz one recompiles the 5 steps with ACTUAL sources collections (it seem's to be the problem)?

Which difficulties are to be overcome?

Hi oui,

Yes 2.14.1 too old for Firefox.

Of course we can use recent glibc without all rebuild but not good idea (that i do when work to upgrade 4.0, use 2.19 before rebuild base).

Not sure how can be do it, for 5 steps you mean rootfs for base, justx, gtkonly, core and lowram ?

This implied to not use cookutils for building from scratch.
