Seamonkey web browser installs but not launch

Seamonkey browser install from this url:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/slitaz/packages/5.0/seamonkey-official-2.53.1.tazpkg

all declared good install, listed in menu under Internet. Click to start, mouse wait icon appears, then is gone. Seamonkey installed to /opt/seamonkey. Go to terminal as root, to the seamonkey directory. There are executables: seamonkey and seamonkey-bin, also run-mozilla.sh. View the .sh file, paths are /mozilla-bin and executable mozilla-bin. From terminal execute: seamonkey, seamonkey-bin and run-mozilla.

Error message: file not found for all three, yet are listed in directory. The other Seamonkey in Package listed is 2.7, which is quite old.

Re: Seamonkey web browser installs but not launch

Hi CalY,

if remember you use current-core64.

In case with 32bits userland, but 5.0 / current don't have same stack.

glibc 2.14.1 vs 2.28 (current)

glib 2.43.3 vs 2.70.3 (current)

Need to check if miss libs or need new version of seamonkey.

Re: Seamonkey web browser installs but not launch

CalY,

In wait that push all stuff on wok-current with receipt both i486/x86_64.

Below seamonkey-official 2.53.18.2 for both current / current64

Re: Seamonkey web browser installs but not launch

Download x64 version from https://people.slitaz.org/~shann/seamonkey, 2.53.18.2

Checked dependencies in Packager Manager, all have green icon. Click to start on

Applications menu for SeaMonkey, error message:

Failed to execute child process "seamonkey-official" (No such file or directory)

The first install when starting from terminal had a shorter terse message as: file not found

I cannot find any file named: seamonkey-official. Is this an alias?

Re: Seamonkey web browser installs but not launch

Hi CalY,

I do same error when test it on Qemu, think on current64, but not smile.

Get seamonkey-official-2.53.18.2-x86_64.tazpkg instead seamonkey-official-2.53.18.2.tazpkg.

Infact, slitaz-current-core64 has kernel x86_64 but userland keep in 32 bits.

Maybe rename iso, but for full x86_64 need to use core64 iso here https://people.slitaz.org/~shann/slitaz-current64-stuff/

Re: Seamonkey web browser installs but not launch

file I downloaded from your site: seamonkey-official-2.53.18.2-x86_64.tazpkg 42.7mb

my OS: Linux version 3.16.55-slitaz64 (root@tank) (gcc version 4.2.1) #2 SMP Thu Jul 14 18:20:24 UTC 2022. Iso is current-core64 of June 16 97mb. Yours is July 11, 91.8mb. Yours is a full x64?

Would it be easier to use 32 bit version of May 27? My other computers are all 32 bit and happy with same. Only the current Slitaz install is Athlon64 X2. If not I should use your later x64 version?

Re: Seamonkey web browser installs but not launch

Hi CalY,

To have full x64 version, infact you need to use  iso from my people space.

For 32 bits version, you can use iso from mirror May 27th.

seamonkey-official package without x86_64 it's for 32bit version and seamonkey-official with x86_64 it's for full x64 version
