Hello,
Everything was OK for my Thunderbird (SliTaz rolling 32bits).
But yesterday, I updated 2 packages:
2024-09-15 00:19:58 - Installed - json-glib (0.16.2)
2024-09-15 00:19:48 - Installed - cookutils (887)
Result: Thunderbird has decided to do an internal update.
Error message:
cedric@R8:~$ thunderbird-bin
thunderbird-bin: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.17' not found (required by thunderbird-bin)
I think that updating the 2 packages has the consequence that Thunderbird's internal update has been activated.
How to disable Thunderbird's internal update?
Thank you.

Hi R8,
same system as mozilla firefox, only you change the folder to operate on to that of thunderbird

My suggestion is, that package maintainers always should take care to disable not only automatic updates but prohibit all updates triggered from an installed program, because that causes inconstistencies between the installed version and the information about the version tazpkg has installed and registered in its database.
All updates should be done by a system administrator using tazpkg.

Hi,
Infact seem issue that firefox, i update both receipt for thunderbird-bin / thunderbird-bin-fr.
Agree with HGT, in that case, is on our responsability to ensure customer don't have unexcepted issue with auto-update.
Unfortunately for cooking, side effect is that use old glibc, we can't provide new version for firefox/thunderbird.
Sorry R8 for issue you have with thunderbird, thanks for report.
