password annoyances

This is the second time now...

Does the forum just not support long UTF32 passwords or something??

I'm afraid I don't type my passwords wink

I see your spam filter didn't even notify you for a post approval, so I'll just send an image instead XD

Here's a sample password I generated that may help you debug smile

I use passwords like that on many verious forums, so it's definitely a support issue wink

Re: password annoyances

welp, UTF16 doesn't work either tongue

dang man, you should really look into upping that big_smile

we'll see if UTF8 works for now... heh

would really like to increase my security back up to UTF32 though tongue

if you're unaware [c]<form accept-charset="utf-32">[/c] should work wink

https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_form_accept_charset.asp

EDIT: don't mistake this for me being a web dev XD

sure I dabbled in it a loooong time ago for hacking things into my own forum, but no, I'm really not

Re: password annoyances

ok so it appears the login form in the header may be broken

trying the UTF8 pass on that fails, but trying it again on the failed form (initial attachment) works

not sure if that was just something fixed recently though as I haven't previously tried the failed form tongue

only the form in the header: tongue

Re: password annoyances

Honestly, tcli, what are you doing?^^

UTF8, 16 and 32 do have the same character space, they differ only in  encoding. Main difference: UTF32 encodes every character in 4 bytes, while UTF8 uses 1-4 bytes...

Re: password annoyances

I'm just using my own password generator, which generates passwords using a thread pool of RNGs in random order with alphanumeric encapsulation (good luck brute-forcing that or even using my own entropy against me) XD

I haven't tried UTF16 or UTF32 passwords on the dialog showing [c]Incorrect password.[/c] in the first image as of yet...

but basically... every time I've been auto logged out ([c][ ] Remember me[/c] doesn't seem work as I've had it checked every time I've logged in), using my password has failed to log me in every time using the front page header form in the third image, at least until I tried the password again after the failure using the form in the first image tongue

and again, I don't type my passwords, so it's physically impossible for me to enter them incorrectly, let alone actually remember them to begin with XD

heck, I challenge anyone to remember even the small sample shown in the second image XD
