Neomagic (like on Toshiba Libretto 100ct/110ct): 800x480 is working!

Key is to install the xorg neomagic package, and using the Option "overrideValidateMode" as found on http://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-neomagic/-/blob/master/src/neo_driver.c .

mageia.org even forced this to true long time ago:

Nice if understand your issue with card is fixed with use neomagic driver and Option overrideValidateMode.
