Virtual keyboard

Hi All,

I could not find any virtual keyboard for Slitaz. Is there any? Or, maybe, it's possible to make a *.tazpkg for onboard package?

Re: Virtual keyboard

Hi Ray,

Good point, at time we don't have any accessibility packages sad.

I have noted this point with others (include welcome screen, printer, wifi, ..) to provide easy smooth experience.

Re: Virtual keyboard

Hi Ray, Shann, this unpretentious virtual keyboard on SliTaz is easy to compile and does the job.

Re: Virtual keyboard

Hi gibor,

Nice, thanks to found it.

Below quick build and test on qemu vm 6.0 x64.

Seem only qwerty keyboard config purpose by default.

Re: Virtual keyboard

Hi gibor, shann

I've tried to compile tarball, but without success. Could you please upload your *.tazpkg?

Re: Virtual keyboard

Hi ray,

On attachment xkbd packages build for 6.0 x64, can't be used on rolling.

Re: Virtual keyboard

Hi shann,

Thanks. Installed and running. The issue is: when I switch language in DE panel from EN to RU, printed text in the typing area is also switched, but on the virtual keyboard it remains EN.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Re: Virtual keyboard

Hi, as mentioned, xkbd is minimal. I only used it in an emergency on a tablet with disabled USB ports.

I believe xkbd lacks Russian support. In the sources, I only find:

all.qwerty.xkbd     en_GB.qwerty.tabletpc.xkbd  en_GB.qwerty.xkbd

en_all.fitaly.xkbd  en_GB.qwerty.tiny.xkbd      en_US.qwerty.xkbd

For a more user-friendly version, it might be better to look at something different, such as xvkbd, but even though it claims to support Russian, I have read reports online that it seems to have some difficulties...
