After 18 years, this is not an easy decision to take. But since the end of May, the breaks follow one after the other: glibc, tazpkg, the kernel, cook and again tazpkg.
Shann’s call (thank you to him for his interventions, which allowed users to be slightly or not significantly impacted) "No commits to critical components (toolchain, tazpkg, glibc, kernel) without prior discussion and collective validation" was useless. Still no consultation before pushing a change. This situation makes me tired... as well as the scalable roadmap for future 5.1.
The magic of SliTaz that kept me here all these years is broken, it no longer has any effect on me; it’s with great regret that I close this chapter to migrate to another distribution, not so small, not so fast 
but stable though of a rolling type.

L’appel de Shann (merci à lui pour ses interventions qui ont permis aux utilisateurs de ne pas être impactés, ou peu), "Aucun commit sur les composants critiques (toolchain, tazpkg, glibc, kernel) sans discussion préalable et validation collective", n’a servi à rien. Toujours aucune concertation avant de pousser une modification. Cette situation me fatigue... ainsi que la roadmap à géométrie variable de la future 5.1.
La magie de SliTaz qui m’a maintenu toutes ces années ici est cassée, elle n’a plus d’effet sur moi ; c’est à grand regret que je referme ce chapitre pour migrer vers une autre distribution, moins petite et moins rapide mais stable bien que de type rolling.

J'imagine que tu as mûrement réfléchi avant d'arrêter ta décision.
Mais, sais-tu, l'herbe paraît plus verte dans le pré du voisin.
Et, finalement, c'est la même herbe.
J'espère te retrouver bientôt, peut-être ici, probablement ailleurs.
Quoique tu fasses, je te souhaite plein épanouissement dans tes aventures linuxiennes.

Je sais que de me voir revenir comme un fou furieux peut faire peur. Et tu le sais bien, je suis la que pour faire avancer les choses. Certes, ca fait beaucoup de commit, entre moi, Pascal et HGT.
Oui on manque de communication, on peut largement faire mieux.
Oui il y a des commits qui on cassé des choses, rebuild des paquets qui n'on jamais été build depuis plus de 6-8 ans = de nombreux fixes (très nombreux). Mais toujours dans le but de fournir une slitaz utilisable pour tous.
J'ai un énorme respect pour toi et Shann, SliTaz serait mort sans vous. Cela dit, pas de version stable depuis ma retraite forcée (putain de vie humaine, merveilleuse et chaotique en meme temps). Il fallait du mouvement si on veut encore donner 20 ans de vie au projet.
Vois aussi ce qui a été fait ces derniers mois. On est sur la bonne voie.
Je serais en France la semaine prochaine, près de Salon-de-Provences. Si tu es pas loins, je suis sure que discuter autour d'un bière ou un café, résoudra tes frustrations/questions.
Ou alors on s'appel, tu m'as sur Signal. Un café/bière ou appel quand tu veux. Prochainement ou quand les émotions seront retombées.
Dans tous les cas, merci pour tous ce que tu as apporté au projet. Je te souhaite que le meilleurs et une bonne santé.

It's a shame to see you go, and I hope you reconsider. While a few things have broken lately, it seems to me like there's also been a lot more activity in general. And tazpkg breaking hasn't annoyed me too much- I'm still happy with SliTaz for reviving my old 1999-era Thinkpad when none of the other very light Linux distros quite worked out for me.

Mais à la lecture des actualités réécrites, topics supprimés, messages "éphémères" et propos qui y sont tenus, je me dois de réagir. Je ne peux pas laisser une personne ré-écrire l'histoire de SliTaz, avec ses vérités.

Alors, je te propose de jouer cartes sur table, devant toute la communauté. Avec ton accord et celui de shann bien sûr, je publierai dans mon prochain post l'historique en screenshots du fil des messages échangés sur Signal faisant état de "beaucoup d'attaques en vers [toi] et d'autre devs actifs".
Les utilisateurs connaîtront ainsi le contexte et jugeront par eux même. Je crois qu'ils ne comprendront pas que tu t'y opposes ou que tu ne répondes pas, ou que par la nouvelle magie qui agit à SliTaz, ce post disparaisse lui aussi.

So, I suggest we lay our cards on the table, in front of the whole community. With your agreement and Shann’s, of course, I’ll publish in my next post a timeline of screenshots from the thread of messages exchanged on Signal, showing “lots of attacks on [you] and other active devs”.
Users will then be able to see the context and judge for themselves. I don’t think they’ll understand why you’re objecting to this or why you’re not responding, or why—by some new magic at work in SliTaz—this post might disappear too.

I also am unhappy about entire threads - and people - being thrown in the memory hole, as well as the update server being broken for weeks. I'm moving to another distro.

I understand your frustration and sad you move to another distribution.
Concerning mirror down, i take decision to protect user due of issue on tazpkg could be break system.

For those interested, the work previously maintained as "Current" continues independently under the name Eslapion, with package mirrors, updated kernels, and an independent infrastructure.
As said in mailing-list, i take this decision following recents events, i'm really sad to see this situation for SliTaz project and community

I hope Slitaz continues, it just resurrected my old EEEPC 701SD from book stand to usable computer again. Not sure what Eslapion is or will be but hopefully our old machines will still see some love in the future.

Bienvenue à Espalion, les mini-distributions, les vraies, sont trop peu nombreuses et si en plus Espalion permet, comme d'autres mini-distro, de redonner vie, de prolonger l'usage des anciens pc/laptop. Sans évoquer les machines plus récentes sur lesquelles embarquer Espalion, par exemple.

that's a really sad message!
I appreciate Your support very much and I think Your retreat is a very great loss for SliTaz.
On the other hand the distribution You will support in the future will benefit a lot.
