Sound Card does not work

Hey.

I have a machine with an integrated sound card (broken) So I put another sound card (pci).

The sound does not work on SliTaz, is it because the machine is taking the card broken?

How do I set up the other card?

Greetings and thanks

This is a bad Google translation

Re: Sound Card does not work

Turn off the audio chipset on the motherboard in the bios.

lspci -nn

Verify you only see one audio device listed.

Re: Sound Card does not work

Hello!

Now I'm not on that machine. But I'm pretty sure it's this model:

VIA Technologies Inc. VT1720/24 [Envy24PT/HT] PCI Multi-Channel Audio

Greetings and thanks!

Re: Sound Card does not work

What version, slitaz 4.0 or cooking?

If it's cooking sound is broken on all my computers.

Slitaz-4.0 :

alsamixer  => Volume up unmuted.

Post output:

aplay -L

aplay -l

Re: Sound Card does not work

Everything looks ok and you've checked alsamixer, unmute.volume levels, speakers ?

Did your sound used to work?

Your now running Stable 4.0:

root@slitaz:/media/disk/boot/packages/software# uname -a

Linux slitaz 2.6.37-slitaz #2 SMP Wed Mar 7 10:36:39 CET 2012 i686 GNU/Linux

cat /etc/slitaz-release

Should say:

4.0

If this says cooking then:

tazpkg set-release 4.0

Check /var/log/tazpkg.log

If you've installed any tazpkgs since April 9 when the cooking repo switch to the new kernel

they could have broken your sound.
