Change login screen?

Is it possible to change the login screen in Slitaz?

Yes, you can. SliTaz uses SLIM as it's login manager which can be themed. Have a look around http://slim.berlios.de/ for more info on that. You'll also find a massive collection of themes there

But generally you just place the theme you want in /usr/share/slim/themes/ and change the current_theme variable in /etc/slim.conf to the theme you want to use.

Thanx m8 really  helped, just hope i get the x enviroment working again

as when i tazusb writefs on one machine it boots up, when moving it to another it fails to start xwin

probebly auto probe vga is turned off, you know anything about this?

/etc/init.d/hwconf.sh (run on startup) triggers the autoconfiguration (line 74 and following) if /etc/X11/xorg.conf is nonexistent.

Guess you just have to delete the existing xorg.conf on moving to the new machine...

how did you move the file? i downloaded a tar.gz theme, and when i try to paste it from downloads ibti /usr/share/slim/themes i get an error

Probably a permission error. First use the command su to go login as the root user:

[c]brenton@trixarian:~$ su
Password:
root@trixarian:/home/brenton#[/c]
then try the cp command again.
