@pankso Razor-qt without nv needed...

,,Build an ISO without xorg-xf86-video-nv include. We have a xorg-server-light.iso flavor with only the vesa driver: http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/4.0/flavors/slitaz-4.0-xorg-light.iso

I can build the same ISO but with Razor-qt as desktop environment if you need."

Thanks for the offer. But where is this ISO that you built?

Re: @pankso Razor-qt without nv needed...

@pankso: Did I understand anything wrong?

As far as I got it you offered to build a xorg-light-ISO of Razor-qt. Right?

So I ask: where is it - in /flavours I could not find anything like that.

http://download.tuxfamily.org/slitaz/iso/cooking/flavors/

- this would be the place where it would appear?

Regards,

Michael Bischof

(On my machine here nouveau does not work at all. Again these drm-connected problems...)

Re: @pankso Razor-qt without nv needed...

iso's built now will have no sound and tazpanel won't run.

I tested the rolling iso from May 5 on 4 computers and virtualbox.

Sound doesn't work on any of them.

This error could have something to do with the sound problem.

See this log: http://cook.slitaz.org/cookiso.cgi?distro=rolling-core-4in1

WARNING: Couldn't open directory /lib/modules/2.6.37-slitaz: No such file or directory

FATAL: Could not open /lib/modules/2.6.37-slitaz/modules.dep.temp for writing: No such file or directory

The install script should be looking for 3.2.14-slitaz not the path to 2.6.37-slitaz the stable kernel version.

Cooking kernel version number is truncated:

Linux slitaz 3.2-slitaz #4 SMP Wed May 2 02:07:42 CEST 2012 i686 GNU/Linux

Tazpanel doesn't work because /usr/bin/httpd_helper.sh was removed from busybox:

Then it makes no sense, yes? For me it sounded like on this basis later some KDE-programs could be run.Wrong?

I am not at home on my familiar machine, but in Turkey. Here simply this ISO did not boot straight into an Xscreen, so I could not even have a short look. If making such an ISO in the correct way hinders some more important work fine by me if it is suspended a bit. On the other hand @pankso offered to do such a thing so I wondered where it appears.

Yes, no sense because sound is broken in the cooking repo which is the package source for the iso.

I would not assume you could install kde programs on the razor-qt iso

Did you try booting the Razor-qt iso with [c]nomodeset[/c] ?

Because of linux-drm I had to use [c]nomodeset[/c] to boot into intel, ati, and nvidia graphics hardware with slitaz-rolling.iso

Not only nouveau, but also radeon and intel framebuffer drivers in cooking linux-drm prevent a screen unless you disable the acceleration with [c]nomodeset[/c].

Re: @pankso Razor-qt without nv needed...

Yes, this valuable advice of you, that saved my neck with some versions, I had not forgotten. But no help in this case. In this very moment I am busy with other things and have no time to go deeper into the matter. So I just wait but repeat my motto:

any ISO that does not boot straight into a working Xscreen is without any value except for some nerds in limited situations! ;-)

For example it is not possible to install then e.g. the proprietary nvidia-driver if you have one. The thing is set to use nouveau. Ok, could be solved but not on the fly.

Thanks a lot for your kind help - let us wait a bit! ;-)
