mc (Midnight Commander) is missing files when package is installed

I've installed mc, but it gives errors and doesn't run.  I don't have the exact messages to post,

but it easy to duplicate.

What is the problem with mc's install?

THANKS.

Re: mc (Midnight Commander) is missing files when package is installed

I tested Midnight Commander install on fresh boot of slitaz-4.0 and cooking live cd's.

MC starts, runs and works without any errors or problems.

mojo,

Yes, I just booted from the liveCD and tried it again, and it worked.  Maybe I had some unusual

problem with reading the LiveCD the last time.

Beats me.

Thanks.

Re: mc (Midnight Commander) is missing files when package is installed

I just booted from my USB Flash Drive where, I have installed Slitaz (Cooking Version).

I installed mc from the  SYSTEM TOOLS -> SLITAZ PANEL

I am getting the error shown in the attached PNG.

libpcre.so.1  : cannot open shared object file : no such file or directory.

mc doesn't run from the GUI or the Terminal (Console).

I also tried to access my gmail account and I'm getting an error about glib-networking not installed, when

accessing TSL.  I've installed glib-networking (but not the -dev version) and I still can't get to gmail.

What else is likely missing?

Thanks.

Larry

Install pcre and elfutils packages.

Thanks for the report,

Bellard,

THANKS, that fixed mc so it works from the GUI.  I haven't tried from a Terminal yet, but it should also work.
