Issues installing SliTaz 4.0 to a HDD

I downloaded the 4.0 iso and burned it to a cd.  When I go to boot from the cd, it boots fine, past language selection, past keyboard configuration until it dumps me at the graphical environment.  There, I have a blank screen with one open xterm window in it.  For whatever reason, I can't figure out how to get 4.0 to boot into the installer and I'm quite puzzled.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Specs:

900 MHz Pentium 3 processor

256 MB SD RAM

NVIDIA 64MB PCI Graphics Card

Don't know the mobo though.  It's a chinese built machine manufactured by a company called Great Wall in english.  Thanks for any replies in advance.

You're being dumped into JustX mode. What you want to go into is core. You can control this from the boot menu either by selecting it from the menu or forcing it on the boot menu's command line by typing core kmap=us lang=en_US and pressing enter.
