How to remove the usb-storage module?

I tried using "rmmod usb-storage" but it says that no file found.

I think it is built into the kernel as the "make menuconfig" show the usb module as "*". However,

i tried to put it to "M" but couldn't.

So i am wondering how else could i make it a module?

The purpose of doing it was because of the HuaWei USB modem stick . I need to remove the usb-storage module before i can modprobe usbserial for the Slitaz to recognise it .

Will appreciate for any helpful suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Justin
