mounting partitions

hello everyone, i have just mounted two different partitions to create more room on my computer for storage etc, however they both have a padlock symbol and wont let me store anything in them, i have slitaz installed. how do i fix this? please help as its really annoying

Don't mount partitions you want to resize.

Gparted will not create a new partition, resize an existing partition,or format a partition that is mounted.

so will i have to re-install slitaz if i want to use the new partitions i have made?

You just mounted the partitions to store stuff on them, not resize or change the actual partitions, right?

If so, it's probably just a matter of changing permissions.

yeah mounted them for extra space, one of them is a 40gb secondary hard drive and the other is just from the first hard drive, how do i change permissions?
