Grub error 18 - Bios to old for grub ?

Hallo all,

I'm trying to install slitaz on an Libretto110CT.

Using 1 partition grub gives an error upon booting: error 18.

Is there an solution for this problem ?

(Is it possible to let the installer make an xxMB boot partition ... (sda1) en using the rest (sda2 > ...) for the / or /home ?

With kind regards,

~remke

Re: Grub error 18 - Bios to old for grub ?

It might be possible (don't know how outdated is your Bios), but before install you need to set 2 partitions, one that will be for / the other for /home. Your / partition have to be tiny and on the very first sectors of your hd or sda, for the MBR to reach the boot. Use gparted on the Livecd for that. I'm posting from a former error 18. I was even able to set 2 / partitions : one for stable, one for cooking. (- and that's why slitaz is great... smile
