Re: Swedish Translation

Hi,

What a nice news! Maybe you could start with the main website page so we can have http://www.slitaz.org/se/ ? If you are motivated you can get access to Slitaz Website repos and then commit your work yourself. To start you can also send me pages. More info: http://www.slitaz.org/i18n.php

We can also create a category forum here for Swedish users and a start page on the wiki doc: http://doc.slitaz.org/se:start

Re: Swedish Translation

Just an info

I commited a package called locale-sv, it is a locale pack wich provide Swedish translation for all applications found in the core livecd. I'm starting work on extra pack that will provide translation for all popular packages such as Gimp, Abiword, Pidgin, etc.

Re: Swedish Translation

Hi,

Danish contributor Bo Vagner suggested to have one nordic forum for sv, da and no. What Swedish users/contributors think about that ? I'm asking because I absolutly dont know if you can uderstand your self since in my country we speak 4 languages and we dont understand each other!!!

Re: Swedish Translation

Hey pankso, It could actually become a problem with understanding eachother or rather missunderstanding, and it allways looks better to have different forums for the different countries, however this doesnt meen we cant work together, but this is just my point of wiev ofc smile

However i will let you decide as you are the big boss smile

And iknow when slitaz is translated, bot website and packages there will come more users automaticly asking lots of questions wink

Re: Swedish Translation

Have you ever visited http://www.sslug.dk or
http://www.sslug.se . Ok most members are danes! On my last trip to Stockholm, I only had to use english one time (The skin color did not look very nordic).

I think it is better to collect meny clever people in one forum, so it can be served proberly, instead of spreading the force.

Re: Swedish Translation

Bo i just stated my point of view, and yes i have visited sslug and i for one

think its hard for some to understand some words and frases, im not saying that is me wink

However, im not saying that we shouldnt try and work together , rather i think we should

what we can do is this for example now english forum looks like this:

English Support – SliTaz English users forums

Live and installation – Live CD USB Frugal and HD installation

Hardware – Harware stuff, wifi card, screen

Packages – Application help, package installation et configuration

What we could do to combine forces is

Scandinavian Support - Slitaz Scandinavian users forums

Swedish - Get help in Swedish

Norwegian - Get help in Norwegian

Danish - Get help in Danish

Finnish - Get help in Finnish

What do you say about that?

Sincerally

Re: Swedish Translation

He-heh...

Hi, Emil!

Unfortunately, Martin Svensson AKA Ztealmax, who is started this topic, is no longer a member of SliTaz community. He even deleted his account.

Emil, are YOU interested in this translation? You can translate it just for yourself, for your pleasure. And, when you share your work, people say you Thanks wink

So, what?

Re: Swedish Translation

I have started translating the system. (no need for the website as 99% of the population understand english) Who would I send my PO files to?

Btw, am I supposed to use PO edit for the translation and may I test my translation before I post it as Swedish has some tricky grammars.

Re: Swedish Translation

Hi, Emil!

I think the best way if you just attached your translations here, in the any forum post (in this or other topic) at your discretion. This is more easy to me to download this file rather to download it from any filehostings like RapidShare of even GoogleDocs.

It's only a bit tricky to rename your file to have ability to attach. You can rename it like 'tazpanel-sv.po.txt'.

Then me, or any other developer will push your translation to the appropriate Hg repo.

Have you a problems with using Poedit?

You may notice that each time you save your file, Poedit also creates a compiled version — mo file. Just copy it to /usr/share/locale/sv/LC_MESSAGES/ (or maybe /usr/share/locale/sv_SE/LC_MESSAGES ? Let me know what is right!)

PS: Oh, I forget to say. Rename your 'sv.mo' with the name that have your '.pot' file. If you have 'tazpanel.pot' then rename your 'sv.mo' to 'tazpanel.mo'. And then copy or move it to locale dir, as explained above.

Re: Swedish Translation

I had one trouble with PO edit as it couldn't understand the "Plural" form in the .pot but I edited that part manually with Leafpad so it should proabibly work but not with the MO file.
(tazpkg-web.pot: search.sh 748 has a msgid_plural wich I think messes with PO edit, try splitting it perhaps?)

I never recieved any sv.mo, I'm not sure if I'm plain stupid but I don't really know where to obtain one... The .mo files where named exactly like the .pot execpt for the file ending.

The following translations are currently finnished: Pizza, Base, Boxes, Tools, Tazbox, TazPanel, Tazpkg-web.

Re: Swedish Translation

Oh, and I think sv_SE but I guess both works. I'm going for Sv though. And I didn't manage to upload the PO files...
