Is a Silicon Motion SM720 Lynx 3DM Graphics Adapter supported?

I tried Slitaz cooking on my Acer Travelmate c100, but after a while the boot process ended in a blank screen. I suspect that the Silicon Motion SM720 Lynx 3DM Graphics Adapter is not supported. Is there a way to make it work?

Thanks

alessandro

Re: Is a Silicon Motion SM720 Lynx 3DM Graphics Adapter supported?

I'm working on this one too... first the driver has to be compiled. I found the information needed to compile from the "T2" package on slitaz, but every time I compile the driver, I either get errors, or it goes all the way through successfully, but says something like no monitors found using Xorg -configure

The packages needed to compile the driver are:

bash

binutils

bzip2

coreutils

diffutils

findutils

fontsproto

gawk

gcc

glibc

grep

linux-header

make

mktemp

net-tools

pkgconfig

randrproto

renderproto

sed

sysfiles

tar

util-linux

videoproto

xextproto

xorg-server

xproto

The SiliconMotion source code is located at:

http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual/driver/

then scroll down until you see ...xf86-video-siliconmotion-x.x.x.x.tar.bz2

Good luck!

Oh yeah, in case you don't already know... to go straight to a terminal on bootup (as opposed to seeing a black screen on live CD) the screen=text option disables the graphical desktop & Slim login manager. So just add that to the live cd boot line. Then once up...
