SliTaz need LXMusic audio application, this is very light and makes for the LXDE project. It's good to play music.

Re: New Cooking 20110531

I am using the latest slitaz cooking through USB drive.

After booting, all I get is blank screen. I know this topic has been discused too many times but still I am not able to solve it.

I tried nomodeset at boot promt, It worked but then I get 1024x768 resolution and could not change it to 1366x768 resolution.

So, i used screen=text option at boot promt and entered the text mode. In text mode i get a high resolution text mode. There using the tazx I installed intel graphics drivers. Now again whenever I use Xorg or X command I get blank screen. But when I run slim, I get login display that too at 1366x768 resolution but slim always fails saying [c]failed executing login command[/c] and also get error something like [drm:intel_panel] get backlight ERROR *fixme* pwm is zero

I don't want an alternative, I want to solve this problem becuase I get this error on nearly every linux even ubuntu.

Re: New Cooking 20110531

First of all, let me just say Slitaz is a great distro and the taz tools are great to work with and simplify my life a LOT. That being said, I'm having the same problem with this cooking version as was posted here: http://vanilla.slitaz.org/index.php?p=/discussion/471/problems-with-remastering-kernel-panic-with-rootfs.gz-s/p1. When you use tazlito gen-distro with default lzma compression, the ISO fails to boot on any PC and you get a kernel panic on the unlzma operation. It works fine with COMPRESSION="gzip" so I know the problem is due to lzma, but gzip also makes the ISO significantly larger. Anyone else having the same issue? Compression with same lzma version on build OS as cooking is not an issue for me as I am chrooted in the cooking rootfs and doing all operations in there. I am hoping it will be fixed for the next cooking version or 4.0.

@ pankso "On the TinyX server side, we may be able to use Xfbdev" - do you have already a Xfbdev iso?

Maybe this iso would be the best option for Poulsbo Netbooks - see:

Re: New Cooking 20110531

Hello, i understand that you are trying to keep the iso image size very low, but i would highly recommend at least adding the flash player plugin to the iso,  since many people(such as myself have had trouble with it) and most people install this anyways. How much space can this take, i don't think more than maybe a few MBs at the most. This seems like a great OS but not being able to install flash is making me want to not use this OS, oh and I am not asking for help on how to install flash as i've already gotten it and it still did not work. Well i just think that adding flash to the iso is something you should highly consider...and thanks for reading this.

Re: New Cooking 20110531

Hi @Jason,

The reason SliTaz doesn't distribute Flash Player on oficial ISO images is that it isn't free. That's why you need to install the "get-flash-plugin" and then install flash player by yourself.

Hi pankso :

What happens in the development of SliTaz 4.0? Has a date for the release?

Re: New Cooking 20110531

Excellente question .

SliTaz The project is undergoing major upgrades in all situations. We have to wait a little longer. SliTaz is getting mature.
