Re: Internet Connection Help Needed

When you say "dialup" do you mean 56k over copper telephone wire ?

If yes, there is no slitaz guide. Whether it will work depends on your ISP and modem.

Based on my experience with linux dialup:

A standalone hardware modem that connects to the slitaz computers serial port will work.

A winmodem built onto the motherboard or plugged into isa/pci slot may work with the right software if it's available.

A generic ISP that doesn't require proprietary windows/mac software to dialup/logon should work.(AOL won't work).

If you have another computer running windows 98se up or osx with dialup access to internet you can turn on internet connection sharing. This requires ethernet adapter in slitaz and win/osx computer and either a crossover ethernet cable or switch/hub with 2 straight ethernet cables to connect them together.
