Midori + compiz => X crashes

Short description of the problem: whenever I start typing in the Midori address bar, X crashes i.e. the text mode login screen is displayed.

This happens only when using Compiz as a WM. It always happens. Not sure how to investigate this issue, so please advice as to what log files should I watch to get at the bottom of the issue.
