Hi,
i almost figured out all of the problems i encountered so far, but one remains.
The video playback with VLC gives me wrong aspect ratio and only black and white.
I tried different x264 files... and it is very studdy... With mplayer, i see a few seconds and then it freezes. lspic shows a radeon HD3200 with RS780M/RS780MN. i think i am using the free ati driver for slitaz. The bootlog shows me, that gpu acceleration is disabled.
i'd rather not make any major changes, because it took me hours to configure my system and not ending up at "Welcome to your box"... :-)
Is anybody there who's able to help and be gentle to my system? :-))

Shit on VLC, mplayer works fine for me. Regarding the HD files: Mplayer log shows, that my laptop has not enough cpu-power :-)
So, another thread closed.

What is the exact error, because this sound familiar to when I used irqpoll as one of my boot parameters. No avi (divx or xvid) encoded movie would play without lagging.
You can enable the hurry up options in VLC's ffmpeg video codec and setting h264 rendering to low fixes it, but loses quality. Removing irqpoll fixes it.
Still VLC creates annoying audio pops on my system, so I end up just using mplayer anyway.

Yes, the mplayer messages in your terminal program say exactly that, not enough cpu power. Guess what? If you use mplayer plug the mplayer-plugin; or xine plus the xine-plugin; or totem plus the totem-plugin; the latest google-chrome, the one that slitaz fetches for you, turns into a high-power video player with 720p (maybe more), and a built-in acceleration modules (ffmpegsumo.so in /opt/google/chrome) that easily beats any built-in accelerator chip. If you are running a "non-accelerated" ati driver on slitaz, chances are this google-chrome would beat any "accelerated ati driver" hands down.
The way to play a file with it is to point the browser by naming the directory of the file. E. g.,
/home/tux/Videos/BigBuckBunny.ogg
/home/tux/Videos/Sexy.mpeg4
When you do this, you get the kind of video playback you can use to run your television monitor with.
Of course, on a Cedarview system, this trick only works with non-slitaz distributions that don't insist on running the slitaz vesa driver. Even on the slitaz vesa driver, though, you get the bouncing glass ball, rarely seen on any Linux box, and an occasional score in the 800s, using the peacekeeper benchmark. The browser does its best to motion compensate the slitaz vesa driver, but the results are mediocre to say the least.
Too bad slitaz hasn't been made safe for the 'adaptation-pc' kernel and modules, available free from tizen.com or from the MeeGo archives.

I had the same issue with VLC, I wasn't able to see anything with it. However, at some point, I have installed some applications and VLC started to work just fine. I suspect LibreOffice installation fixed it - I know it sounds weird, but it's just a guess.
MPlayer didn't work either when VLC was not working, so removed it.
