Hello,
I tried to install LibreOffice (and to test it) Open Office yesterday and today with the package manager. The get-files he downloaded and tried to execute. The 2nd action failed and the message was that he could not download the .tar files?
Did I made a mistake or is there a kind of problem/bug?

Like you can see, I recommend using the package found at http://sourceforge.net/projects/portable/files/ rather than the get-LibreOffice package. The reason being that I feel a stand-alone package that you just have to extract to use is easier to use than a downloader script that fails the moment they move the files

Hello Trixar - thanks - tried this already and wanted again to try the package and compare both. Would like to have a version in German. Could not manage to get a standalone with a German user interface. Maybe I'll find one. Tested on the other hand this afternoon Abiword and Gnumeric and will use them for the time being as a replacement for Word and Excel. Do you (or somebody else) know if there is a package among the 3.000 to replace PowerPoint?

I did some searches myself during the last exams session... well I found nothing small and fully featured, instead of what, I used gimp to make each slide to a picture and imagemagick to generate a pdf
but I found this one : http://www.ease-project.org/index.html does not look bad, but didn't tested.
not sure slitaz has all dependencies

why not just get the libreoffice tar file, un-tar it in /opt,
then create asym link in /usr/bin to run the appropriate exec ?

I wrote this a few hours after I have successfully installed LibreOffice in Slitaz Linux. I have tried installing many times and many weeks using script found on the internet, but failed. Fortunately, after trying many times I have found the technique.
1. Go to http://mirror.slitaz.org/packages/stable/ and search for get-LibreOffice-1.2-tazpkg, click, and download and save on your desktop.
2. click to install or extract and you will get a new folder get-LibreOffice-1.2
3. go to System Tools > PCMan File Manager >.... and you are now in your main file window
4. since everyone's pc is different, now is your time to search for folder usr > lib. You are in the right lib folder when you can see many program folders in it. Lib folder is like Program Files in windows.
5. go to Tools > Open Current Folder as Root... enter the password and you will get second window with super user mode. use this window.
6. copy the new folder get-LibreOffice1.2 from desktop to lib
7. now get-libreoffice1.2 > fs > usr > bin > and you will find an icon get-libreoffice1.2.
8. in the same folder go Tool > Open Terminal
9. get your su and then type get-libreoffice1.2 and press enter......
10. it is time to take a break.......
11. I do not guarantee anything, but at least I have installed LibreOffice successfully in my Slitaz Linux

It works for me right now. Do not confuse the uppercase and lowercase letters in get-LibreOffice.

In the first paragraph I mentioned the many scripts that I have tried but fail, including the script that you mentioned.
If you do your search here in the forum, you can find other people who has problem installing LibreOffice using script, that is similar to my experience. What I posted earlier, is alternative installation technique for LibreOffice. It does not apply to people like you who do not have problem like us.

What is the script? Should I have guessed that this is our get-LibreOffice package? What is the version of your SliTaz? Maybe 3.0 and you use old version of get-LibreOffice package? In addition to these obvious questions, there are several accidents.
Could it be that SliTaz Mirror server did not respond and was in down? Could it be that LibreOffice developers changed the file placement and naming scheme? Could it be that you use a bit old version of get-LibreOffice package that has not yet been adapted to the new conditions? You did not write anything that could help locate your problems with LibreOffice.
In the third post in this topic I clearly see that:
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found
That mean LibreOffice developers put files to another location, and the script looks for them in the old place.
I'm happy that you cope with LibreOffice, and in your own way, well done!
But I see that our get-LibreOffice package do the same thing, and there is the proof. I was booting to the original 4.0, up my Wi-Fi, gone to the TazPanel → Packages, recharge list & upgrade packages. Open terminal, su, and that 2 lines that I posted earlier. Script works and it do your job that you describe in your post.

Really time shows that I have not problems with downloading. I have problems with extracting/repacking of packages. I have SliTaz 4.0 installed like LiveUSB, all my files is in RAM, and I have 1 GB of RAM. It is enough for everyday work, but too few for package repacking.
Until get-LibreOffice script working I found in the /tmp (really in my RAM) unpacked packages and packed tazpkg. Next step—dependence of JavaRE. Unpacked LibreOffice RPMs not cleared. JRE packages downloads, unpacking and repacking and—[c]No space left on device[/c] ;(
I had time to copy the currently created package LibreOffice-3.6.1.tazpkg (101.5 MiB) and /tmp cleared and I repeat JRE installing. But, no luck. I have both JRE & LO packages but I see errors while installation and can't see icons in the menu and nothing works:

I don't like all these bloated offices. By the way I have compressed Softmaker Free Office (sorry, in Windows) that can read doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx and write doc, xls, ppt; have not bad compatibility with MSOffice… just in 30 MiB on my USB Stick that I can carry with me everywhere! Sorry for offtopic, but developers of modern offices is to strive for!

I had similar problem and I detected it was a certificate check failure of the libreoffice mirror ("Self-signed certificate encountered" message).
To resolve this issue, I did modify the get-LibreOffice script to add to all the "wget" command instance a "--no-check-certificate" option.
I'm pretty sure it can be solved a better and more "cleaner" way, but I'm not that much a guru.

Please pardon this newbie for reviving an old post, im still in the process of getting to know Slitaz (and linux in general). 
I gotta hand it to you all, reviving a 7-year-old laptop can be a real bliss with Slitaz 
and so now I have come upon an issue with regards to installing LibreOffice...

It installed nicely here using v4 Stable, yet when I checked Applications --> Office, no LibreOffice icons are available. Are there any other steps needed to be done?
