Slitaz 4.0 - Webcam causes kernel panic

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for any help!

Setting up a computer with slitaz, has a usb webcam.

lsusb ==>

Bus 001 Device 006: ID 090c:937b Silicon Motion, Inc. - Taiwan (formerly Feiya Technology Corp.) Silicon Motion Camera

After 2 days of search, I understood that i need 2 things working: the driver which is here uvcvideo. Since lsusb shows me my webcam, that should mean it's okay.

Next is l4v/l4v2? Do i need them or not? Not sure what it's exactly.

Without it, skype doesn't show webcam. the taz App for installing new hardware webcam doesn't give anything out.

I searched and installed v4l-dvb (development_2.6.37) cuz i couldn't find any other paquet for slitaz which would be "stable". (Can someone explain me why? (please and sorry for stupid question ^^) )

After that, everytime i plug my cam, it's kernel panic full screen.

I continue surfing by "alt+f1, alt+f7" and i can do as if nothing happened.

Then I start skype, same thing. And eventually i still can't see webcam in skype.

Need help big_smile

@Aria, check out the following http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/webcam-usb/page/4 - you may want to read earlier posts as well just to get some idea on what was discussed.

The modules that gibor made available did the trick in my case - hope this will help.
