Gparted message: Moving a partition might cause your operating system to fail to boot.

Hello I'd like to install slitaz on my computer.

I've got a ubuntu and windows xp installation already present.

I'm not too sure how to configure the partitions however? Especially when I get the above (title) error message in gparted after trying to 'resize' an existing partition.

Any ideas? Thank you

Re: Gparted message: Moving a partition might cause your operating system to fail to boot.

My 2 cents:

Yeap, gparted message warns you about the risk of losing data when resizing. It does not mean you will loose your data but that could happen.

My experience is:

I used gparted a couple of time to change size of my partitions (XP and slitaz) and never encountered any problem. When a new slitaz is out, I usually install it on a new partition freshly created with gparted. No problem so far.

I feel really confident about gparted but, as already said, there is always a risk.

My advice before using gparted: do backup your data.

Happy slitaz.
