Move Home directory

Hello - for special reasons I installed SliTaz 4.0 without a separate partition for the Home directory. Is it possible to move this directory now to an USB-Stick? And if how to do it without having a black screen afterwards?

Re: Move Home directory

i think it should not be a problem (except i think it will not be very robust, eg if you move the stick to another usb port)

you need an ext3 partition on the stick

do a copy of all your files, and modify you /etc/fstab with the right /dev/sdxx (keep a copy of the original fstab.old)

you will not have a black screen if you make some mistake but you will not be able to login to any non-root account

worst case it does not work you boot from the cdrom, access the on-disk / partition, and change back fstab with you old copy, and you are up again
