No wireless in Slitaz 4.0

Hi All

When I had Slitaz 3.0, I on my dell Inspiron, I was able to install the ipw2200 firmware and then install the orinoco_cs module so that my Netgear Wireless B card would function.  I cannot seem to do that in 4.0.  I can use modprobe to install both modules, but I still cannot get the wireless to function in 4.0.

BTW the model Netgear 16-bit PCMCIA PS401

Re: No wireless in Slitaz 4.0

[c]modprobe pcmcia[/c]

Wireless adapter card plugged in use pccardctl status , pccardctl ident,

pccardctl info ,pccardctl eject ,pccardctl insert commands.

Open a second term:

tail -f /var/log/messages

[c]modprobe -r orinoco_cs[/c]

[c]modprobe orinoco_cs[/c]

Post info from above commands or applicable errors from /var/log/messages

if you need more help.

Re: No wireless in Slitaz 4.0

Hereś the card info from the commands:

"NETGEAR PS401 Wireless PC", "Card", "ISL37300P", "Eval-RevA"

manfid: 0x000b, 0x7300

functions 6 (network)

pccardctl eject yeilds nothing

pccardctl insert commands gives me a help list

I tried pccardctl insert by itself, but it yielded nothing

Var/log/messages

daemon.err udevd[1487]: bind failed: Address already in use

user.notice error binding udev control socket

daemon.err udevd[1484]: error binding udev control socket

user.debug kernel: orinoco 0.15

The message appears to repeat itself

Re: No wireless in Slitaz 4.0

I wonder could the reason I am seeing udev errors is because the firmware is for ipw2200 and the module is orinoco_cs?.  This the way I had it set in Slitaz 3.0

Re: No wireless in Slitaz 4.0

Decided to go back to 3.0 and it works again.  Flash is installed properly as well.  Apparently, my machine only does well with 3.0. Thanx!
