I need help ASAP

Hi!

I have had some trouble during the summer. My computer didn't want to boot to the Windows 7 desktop so I downloaded Neosmart Recovery CD and as you can notice Slitaz was included in the CD. Right now I have some files I need to copy from my desktop (which is on the harddrive) and move them to another computer. Here is the list what I have tried (all failures):

1. I have installed Dropbox but it doesn't appear ANYWHERE. I also installed wget but without results. Can't find it anywhere.

2. I have used the Midori Web Browser and entered my Gmailaccount. I tried to send a message with an attached word.doc file and it actually shows that the file HAS BEEN attached but when I send it and enter the mail with the (supposedly) attached file the mail is empty and there is NO attached file in it :S

3. I have tried Burnbox and Graveman without any results. When I tried to burn a DVD-RW via Graveman it came to 44 % and showed input/output error.

4. I have no USB-disk. Will it be solution to the whole problem if I get one? I am so pissed with the CDs and DVDs.

I would really appreciate any kind of solutions. Remember: The main thing is that I just want to transfer my files from this trashed computer to another one. Sorry for my poor english btw.

Hello & welcome,

For your tries 2 :

I confirm that midori don' t work with attached file to gmail but seamonkey suite (light firefox like) do

One solution, when you are under slitaz :

- click on the upper left X icon

- be root user (pwd is root) by typing : su

- type : tazpkg -gi seamonkey

... if it works, you can access to seamonkey in the menu :

applications > internet

Good luck,

If it does not work, get an USB key and repost, i write further here another solution for all ...

Hi Escapetiger. Thank you for the fast response.

I have installed Seamonkey now and the installation worked fine according the commandprompter.

The problem now is when I click on Seamonkey it won't start :S

The fun thing is that Retawq won't start either.

Any solution?

Otherwise I'll contact a friend ASAP and get an USB.
