I love slitaz so much I install 4.0 on my wifes laptop.
But now I can't see my wireless which is netgear.
I'm going to try wired and try hardware detectin to
see if that works.
If you know what will help please advize....

What wireless card do you use? Please send a $ lspci so that we would know if there a specific problem with your wireless card or if you need a specific driver. Or it may be as simple as for mine that you just have to type $ ifconfig <networkcard> up

It would also help if you were to post a copy of your /etc/network.conf (replace passwords with xxxxx before posting)

You have to install a driver for the Broadcom network cards and since you are using a "bcm43xx" you should download b43-fwcutter (exists in tazpanel) and install the firmware. Take a look at this link, it may be usefull!

If I installed slitaz 4.0 without the wired would it install every thing I need for the wireless?
I know that is how windows does it.

Unfortunately not as it doesn't have access to the drivers required. As Windows is the most used operating system most hardware has native support for it but Linux needs to add their own drivers. I could probably make a firmware installer script for SliTaz such as the "firmware-b43-installer" but I won't promise anything so please, just follow the instructions in the link above and send a response, keep in mind that b43-fwcutter is already in the tazpanel so just download it and follow the istructions on the page.

No it does not. I have tried a lot of linux's. I simply love slitaz. I have installed it two other desktops sense I found it two weeks ago.
The laptop belongs to my boss the wife. I had debian on there, it is a great distro but I like this
slitaz way better.
