Live DVD with full repos

I'd really love a live DVD with LibreOffice

preinstalled, plus full SliTaz repositories

on the DVD disc itself, and the whole setup

rigged to use them instead of Internet.

Some older machines in use now have basically

zero Internet access, especially in poor

countries. A DVD can be mailed quite cheaply.

I guess there's plenty of space even on the

live CD as things stand, but imagine a DVD

would be needed for the entire SliTaz repo.

check out http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/slitaz/iso/4.0/packages-4.0.iso - you would still need to download LibreOffice separately.

Re: Live DVD with full repos

You are on the ball! Thank you.

I just tested an obscure, RAM-resident live distro with full LibreOffice on CD - Austrumi

http://cyti.latgola.lv/ruuni/#

It's a nice job, but tricky with language settings. I'm not sure that bit works. I wish Austrumi had SliTaz boot-time language/keyboard dialogs. Still LibreOffice runs admirably well in Austrumi, all in RAM.

Speaking of those dialogs, I think SliTaz should auto-default to USA english and qwerty? Then proceed with a delay/countdown or something if no other choice is made.

I question SliTaz "get-libreoffice" - a binary blob seems the better way. Well you have reasons. I suppose one could mail two discs. The office disc would want all world languages, fonts, and dictionaries anyway.

Thank you for the quick answer and such a wonderful OS!
