loading wireless firmware/modules on boot

Hi all

I think I read somewhere that there is a way of loading the wireless software for my card on boot, but I have forgotten where I found it.  Is there a way to get that done(perhaps with a script)?

Yes, that's a good article; however, my card is a pcmcia card; the module seems to work is orinoco_cs and the firmware is ipw2200; not sure how that works in this case;

Re: loading wireless firmware/modules on boot

Full install or tazusb writefs gz after configuration to save.

Install ipw2200 firmware in  /lib/firmware

Add orinoco_cs to LOAD_MODULES in /etc/rcS.conf

Configure /etc/network.conf

Wificard plugged in pcmcia socket from boot till shutdown.

Re: loading wireless firmware/modules on boot

Oh yes!!  I tried a variation, by changing the pathway of INSTALL FIRMWARE and that installed the firmware; adding the module was easy!

Outstanding!! Thanx All!
