How to Install Network Drivers

Hello,

Linux n00b here, I have created a SliTaz live CD that I use on some old Dells for booting to rdesktop. So far with the packages I have added, everything is working great. The only problem is some of these old dells need network drivers not included in SliTaz, so when I run it on them, they are not working so great. I want to be able to add a few additional Ethernet drivers to the next liveCD build and I clueless as to how to do this. I can download and unpack the drivers I need but do not know where to go from there. Any help would be much appreciated.

Linux Drivers are either compliled with the kernel or distributed as kernel modules, so if there isn't a package for the module you need, you'll need to do something like this: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/compiling-linux-kernel-module.html ,or maybe slitaz documentation has something on it? I suppose you could also convert a package too, maybe... (I dunno how everything works )

Also it seems too weird that the ethernet drivers don't work for you, maybe you have broken hardware instead of just exotic hardware?

It's just a 3com 3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado] SliTaz does not detect it. I can run other flavors of linux and they  detect it just fine (dsl, mint, ubuntu, puppy).

InSliTaz when I go to the Netbox manager the eth0 interface is missing under connections. If I do an If config from xterm the only thing that shows up int the lo(local loopback)

And as I am typing this I thought occurs to me... So I removed the livecd from the desktop and put in the cd with the generic SliTaz and rebooted. Network card detected.

I was using a liveCD I created from a laptop(I had it configured for rdesktop) to run on the desktop(different Ethernet cards) Did I do something wrong? Why would the live CD not detect the Ethernet card on the desktop? The only change I made before creating the live cd was installing rdesktop, created an auto start application for it and chose compression type none to write the ISO.
