Hi!
Has anyone successfully installed Vmware player under slitaz 3.0?
I want to use a Windows VM (guest) under Slitaz (host).

Virtualbox is a good alternative to Vmware

get-virtualbox script downloads/installs virtualbox non-free version (guest additions compat) and all it's depends.

People would like to use Player/Workstation for various reasons
Instructions (testing?) from the ONES that know would be appreciated by the rest of us MINIONS

Visualization software is Visualization software. If it does the job well enough, why complain about the brand? It's like complaining because your friend bought you the wrong brand of bottled water. In the end it's still just water.
Personally I use qemu with qemulator since it's in the repository.

I must apologize, as what I said was not 100% correct, to INSTALL vmware player you need the packages for bash and coreutils-disk.
But that only helps in installing vmware, once installed, more problems occur, (kernel modules not found, scripts not executed... I don't really know how to solve)
To trixar, I haven't tried qemu, but I know for sure, vmware let's me set up more ram, without swapping, than virtualbox.
This is (to me at least) a point to go for vmware.

One reason to use Vmware is to run Mac OS X natively (no need to hack installer etc)
So that is the reason why I would NOT use qemu, even it is easier to get working...

Note how I said I use qemulator with qemu. It's pretty straight forward from the gui.
Vmware has been known to have issues running certain distros (like Fedora), while Virtualbox has some issues with Ubuntu. No virtualization software gets all the hardware calls 100% accurate. Also isn't it breaking the licence agreement of MacOS to run it on anything other than a Mac?

Yeah... you agreed to the licence which clearly states how you can use it and on what. Just know the fine is pretty steep. My friend got fined 20k and had his PC seazed for a similar offence. But hey, it's your ass on the line
